My apprenticeship has built me into a more confident, working professional.
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?
When I had come out of sixth form after finishing my A-levels, I decided the best option for me was to do an apprenticeship as I wanted a more practical option to continue my learning and I didn’t want to be tied down to university bills when I could be learning on the job and getting paid whilst also learning for the trade I want to go into.
What have you learnt from doing an apprenticeship?
Since starting my apprenticeship, I have gained plenty of knowledge that will help me develop into my current role for the future whether it be from shadowing colleagues to the course material as part of the apprenticeship whilst also developing my communication skills due to working in an office and working environment and dealing with customers over the phone which I had not done before given I had no confidence before which is not the case as much anymore as my apprenticeship has made me a more confident person.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
In the future, I would like to continue working in the role that I am working at now, whether it be with Catalyst or somewhere else but I also like the fact that given my role covers a lot of bases in IT, I would like to keep my options open to potentially try something new if it was interesting to me.
