Role: Learning and Organisational Development Apprentice

Studying: Business Administration Level 3

Training Provider: Seetec

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?

During the pandemic I spent a long time on furlough which allowed me the space and time I needed to re-evaluate my life goals. I wanted to change direction completely but was well aware of some gaps in my knowledge and experience. I chose the apprenticeship route because it is an ideal way to gain both without sacrificing the all-important pay packet.

What have you learnt from doing an apprenticeship?

My apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to learn and develop some highly transferable skills, which I’ll be able to take with me wherever I go. Time management and organisational skills have been big ones for me as well as learning how to better communicate in the workplace. I’ve also been able to brush up on my IT skills and now have a lot more confidence using Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I would definitely love to progress further with Catalyst, particularly within the Learning and Development Team which is where I am now. However, I know that the knowledge and experience I’ve gained here, along with the Level 3 qualification, will put me in good stead for a similar role within any company.
