Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?

I decided to do an apprenticeship because I didn’t see myself going to university as I have always enjoyed working. This may be for experience, saving money towards buying a car/house in the future or just for my own mental health. I believe that I can achieve more if I am studying my level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship whilst working with the Catalyst Aftercare team. I also wanted an apprenticeship to build on my skills and experience, working with the public in customer service roles.

What have you learnt from doing an apprenticeship?

I have learnt a lot so far in my few months of apprenticeship and working at Catalyst, especially my skills in IT. I have been taught how to use Teams, Outlook, Excel and lots of internal systems. I have developed my understanding of these by using them in my day-to-day job. I have been shown how to professionally communicate through emails; a skill I’ve only used verbally before.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

In the future I see myself leading a team. I hope to receive a distinction in my apprenticeship next year which could lead to completing another qualification of a higher level.
