Catalyst is offering work placements to give young people a stepping stone into work.
Thirty young people will be given the opportunity to start a six-month work placement from April 2021 as part of the Government’s £2bn Kickstart scheme.
The placements are for young people aged 16 to 24 who receive Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.
So why has Catalyst got involved? As a proud member of the G15 group and one of the UK’s leading housing providers in London and the Home Counties, the Kickstart Scheme supports our social purpose to help disadvantaged young people to get into employment. It’s also a great opportunity to support people in our local communities.
We’ll be recruiting a total of 30 young people between April and December 2021 and each of those will take up the newly created post of Community Connector. The key focus for this role will be to work at the heart of our communities to find out what’s needed and take practical action to deliver local improvements. This is a fantastic opportunity for those individuals to develop their skills and experience and fulfil their potential.
We have already established relationships with our local Job Centre Plus work coaches and we’re excited to be working with them on this initiative to create opportunities amongst our communities. To apply to become a Kickstarter, you need to be aged 16-24, living in England or Wales and on Universal Credit. Further information can be found on the GOV.UK website .
