This week (7 to 13 February) is National Apprenticeship Week, an annual celebration of the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy.
At Catalyst, we’re committed to supporting and investing in apprentices, and have trained more than 35 individuals over the past five years, with many going on to earn permanent positions in the organisation.
This week we’re hearing from apprentices about their experience of on-the-job training with us. We caught up with Mellissa Rowling to find out how she’s found her apprenticeship here at Catalyst.
Mellissa, currently a Learning and Organisational Development Apprentice, said: “My apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to learn and develop some highly transferable skills, which I’ll be able to take with me wherever I go. Time management and organisational skills have been big ones for me, as well as learning how to better communicate in the workplace. I’ve also been able to brush up on my IT skills and now have a lot more confidence using Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook.”
